Many store-bought taco seasonings lack flavor because they have a filler as the first ingredient. The first time I attempted to make my own, I was blown away by the flavor that I was missing out on in my Mexican food! If you've never made your own taco seasoning before, now's the time. I intentionally made a spice blend that could be made with limited measuring spoons so that it can be mixed up in a short amount of time.
I have linked some of the ingredients that I own down below. These products are tried and true and are the best value and quality that I have found.
Autumn's Taco Seasoning
Yields about 1 1/2 cups.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup (4 TBSP) onion powder
1/4 cup (4 TBSP) mineral salt
3 TBSP cumin
3 TBSP chili powder
2 TBSP parsley
2 TBSP oregano
2 TBSP garlic powder
2 TBSP cocoa powder
2 TBSP Pyure (see note)
2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp paprika
Note: Pyure is similar to THM super sweet. I prefer it because it's more affordable.
Directions:
Mix together all ingredients and store in a mason jar or other airtight container.
